MAS Industries was founded in 1998 in Wallingford, Connecticut. The company was formed to service the Shipbuilding and Aviation industries with specialty high temperature thermal, acoustic and fire insulation materials.

MAS Industries is a distributor for all the major insulation manufacturers, as well as for most of the companies involved in the sundry or supplemental products that are used to install these materials. Recently, however, MAS Industries acquired the assets of two manufacturing and fabrication companies.

The companies diversity is such that they manufacture, fabricate and distribute materials for all of the leading shipbuilders in the world. The products comply with the required specifications for Military, Coast Guard, Federal, International Maritime Organization, ASTM and Nuclear applications. MAS Industries is one of only two suppliers qualified to furnish materials to the United States Navy for its nuclear shipbuilding programs.

Further diversification has come from joint ventures with companies in the Aluminum and Steel industry and in Active Fire and Gas Detection systems.
